The New Communist Attacks

Suddenly we know why blogs like this one are so extremely important today.

Three seemingly unrelated events are posted in American media Monday, March 9, 2009:

      1. American newspapers, the heart of information delivered to the public, are dying like flies.

      2. China has just committed major acts of harassment against an American ship in commercial waters.

      3. North Korea is making new threats about regular joint US/South Korean military exercises.

If you need to be refreshed on these matters, check each concern at the links below:

The once great American press was known for integrity. Print media's (capitalistic) revenues were eight times larger than those of radio and television combined. Now, all media is starving, led by printed newspapers and, worse yet, remaining newspapers are savagely and blindly protecting the new president's limping programs.

You may have heard of the president's and print journalists' aggressive misquotes of the famous pundit, Rush Limbaugh. For all our traditional bluster about freedom of speech in the United States, our citizens are now unwise to make any claim that the new president is fails at anything. "Fail" is a pivotal word at the moment as the Obama administration has cast much negative criticism against a small broadcaster, Rush Limbaugh, who said he hoped Obama would fail at turning America into a socialist state. Our media refuses to report on any failure on the part of the president and it consistently misquotes Mr. Limbaugh, claiming that he said he hoped Obama would fail, deleting the "at turning America into a socialist state" part of the quote.

That's ugly and it is new in free world journalism.

American media now pose that Chinese harassment of an American vessel and North Korean threats over regular exercises are the result of typically absurd behavior by China and North Korea. Nothing more than that.

I think these events are connected. It seems to me that these events are the very first serious tests of President Obama's determination to protect his nation's interests. Mainstream media is illqualified to predict the next steps that may be taken by Communists and where those steps may lead if Obama remains weak. Be reminded that popular journalists once took on the tasks of reporting “news and analysis.” Analysis is no longer done.

I think it is time to be far more wary than you ever were. It is now time to really think out how you will protect your children and grandchildren in a failed America. I want to see a uniquely qualified journalist explain to America, Canada, Australia and Great Britain what this might mean to all. At least Japan is a little ahead of the curve, already having voiced some of these concerns.

Would today's excitement forebode new kinds of attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan? We think of India as an ally to us and to Japan. Could pivotal tests of President Obama turn India away from the West and from Capitalism? How important might Micronesia and the Philippines be in all this? Might China make a move against the Panama Canal during our presidential weakness and, if that happened, would all the Pacific nations suffer? Is the time ripe for a sneak attack against Taiwan by China?

Will Russia care about anything in all this? Will it be happy to see The Coming Collapse of China change and become the collapse of the Free World?

As a nation we have allowed ourselves to divide and become Conservative and Liberal, unwilling to hear each other in respect.

That is why I believe that your thoughts on this issue might be important on a very large scale – Small bloggers can say big things without receiving the poor treatment that our big time pundits might.

In the meantime, I encourage you to make regular examinations of blogs that reveal new views of Asia and the Pacific. Follow these three links:

Our newspapers are failing

Our newspapers are failing because of the growing popularity of online and network news. We live in a fast-paced, high demand economy. The newspaper comes once a day, and offers limited news. Online/Network (TV) news offers immediate stories and updates. No longer do people wait until the 6 PM news to find out what's happening in the world. I think the newspapers do the best local investigative reporting out of any media outlet, but I'm afraid not all papers can make it through this change. As media sources continue to expand and grow via the internet, we will see the further decline of paper media sources. Maybe they'll produce an E-paper that continually updates, and is able to provide local news. There's an idea. -- Frank DUI lawyer

Good points

Frank,

You make good points here. Competition against newspapers and other media is colossal now.

My own interest is the shift in integrity and I will be very interested in your take on that. With no meaningful advertising income for (marginally) competent journalists, there is a vacuum that will be filled.

Will it be skilled indviduals who dedicate themselves to gaining trust? Or will it be boobs who lie easily and who are smart enough to herd the masses the way dolphins herd schools of small fish for eating?

I have been reading blogs in Europe and Asia and these people are bringing up startling information. Many are retired diplomats and retired financial officers of major, worldwide companies. They now share things that we were unable to learn before. That's nice.

There are other people who are doing their best to make us fearful of innocent things and to drive us to become meat for their feasts. That's not nice.

What is your guess? Where will it end?

We'll all be delighted to pick up your ideas on this problem.

Thanks for your post.

Communism is Bad for this World

When it comes to the communist philosophies, they're perfect in theory, but full of flaws in the actual practice of it.  There's no way corruption will not creep in and take over the idealisms that are presented within it's deepest roots.  Democracy is the way to govern the people of today.  Let's keep this world a FREE place!
